Scope of Section

We have been involved in research on high temperature materials such as various carbon materials. Currently, we are interesting in (1) evaluation methods for micro-structure/texture and properties of carbon materials, such as advanced C/C composites and carbon fibers, (2) techniques for controlling the interphase texture in carbon fiber reinforced composites, such as C/C composites and CFRP, and (3) preparation of ultra high purity materials and their evaluation as high temperature materilals

RESEARCH PROGRAMS

  1. Evaluation of ultra-high temperature materials.
[The New Sunshine Program] FY 1999-2003.

  2. Creep test for composite materials.
[The New Sunshine Program] FY 2000-2004.

  3. Preparation of carbon fiber reinforced carbonaceous matrix composite and evaluationn of its durability for geothermal energ;y conversion.
[The New Sunshine Program] FY 1999-2001.

  4. Basic studies on the preparation process of ultra high purity materials and their properties.
    [Ordinary Research] FY 1999-2001.

  5. Recovery and recycle of dispersed heavy oil by using carbon materials.
    [NEDO, Proposal-Based R&D] FY 1998-2000.
